Abstract
Musculoskeletal disorders account for 29-35% of all occupational injuries and illnesses. Yet, biometric insurance products aren’t attractive enough to individuals with physical workload or health risks.

In the European life insurance products market, where the gross written premiums in 2016 amounted to 695.5 billion Euros, health and life insurance policies are stagnating and significantly declining, even though their importance for society is ever increasing.

Approach
Bootstrapped technology driven innovation that enables individuals to assess their musculoskeletal health using their own smartphone camera together with leading research institutes in Europe. 

Raised institutional funding and validated the business model for the life and health insurance market within Germany. Piloted the product with various life and health insurers to validate the customer journey and bring the product to life and market.

Solution
Artificial Intelligence in Motion (AIMO) enables individuals to get an objective assessment of their musculoskeletal health using their own smartphone camera. The artificial intelligence detects movement deviations which are used to indicate and predict health risks and to provide tailor made recommendations to secure and improve personal health. 

Outcome
Founded in 2014, AIMO is currently transitioning into its growth phase.
